The school in Anaikot needed some repairs after 5 years of opening.

  • External wall finishes washed off. Local mud plaster recipe did not hold well enough on bamboo mat base and did not withstand movements of the bamboo structure. This area is more exposed to strong winds than previously designed. Chicken wire and cement addition were used to improve durability.

  • Window shutters and door wings needed replacement with thicker plywood sheets.

  • Window highlights had to be closed with polycarbonate for driven rain.

  • General minor repairs (painting, screw tightening).

The building will be further observed and alterations made in future projects to bring need of repairs to a minimum.
